Suginohara runs down the south flank of Mount Myoko and holds the longest continuous ski run in Japan — roughly 8.5km from the top gondola station to the base, dropping about 1,100m in a single uninterrupted descent. The mountain is wide, lightly treed and quiet, with a gondola and two long quad chairs covering terrain that at a European resort would carry three times the lift infrastructure. Lifts usually run from late December into early May, with dates set by snowfall each season.
