Aomori · Tohoku
Sixteen hectares of working orchard on the slope below Mount Iwaki holding about 2,300 apple trees of some sixty-five varieties, with a cider house, a shop and a restored thatched farmhouse among them. Picking runs from August into November; the trees blossom pale pink in early May, a fortnight after the castle cherries have gone over.
