Appi Kogen Ski Resort

安比高原スキー場

Iwate · Tohoku

Ski season runs early December to as late as early May; the APPI 1304 gondola then reopens from June to late October for green-season sightseeing. One of Tohoku's largest resorts, Appi is known for long, consistently pitched groomed runs and dry Iwate powder. In summer the gondola climbs to summit viewing decks, gardens and a cafe, with a dinosaur park at the top from mid-July.
