A circuit garden in central Aizuwakamatsu laid out around a central pond, used from the 17th century as a villa garden and medicinal-herb garden by the Matsudaira lords of Aizu. It is designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty, and a herb bed of roughly 400 species is still cultivated on the grounds. A tea house on the pond serves matcha to visitors. The garden is open every day of the year.
