A shallow marshy pond fed by cold springs on the nature trail between Taisho Pond and Kappa Bridge; it never freezes fully, and its grassy islets glow gold in autumn against the Hotaka backdrop.

- No admission fee for Kamikochi or Tashiro Pond. Costs are transport only: private cars are banned, so shuttle bus from Sawando ¥1,600 one-way plus parking ¥800/day (Sawando) or ¥600/day (Hirayu). Public toilets ask for a small donation.
