Yukiaizaki Cape

行合崎

Aomori · Tohoku

A grassy headland jutting into the Sea of Japan just off Route 101, ringed by dramatic wave-cut rock formations and carpeted with wild Nikko-kisuge day lilies that bloom from June. A small campground on the cape makes it a prized local sunset and stargazing spot.

Why we picked it

It sits unmarked between Fukaura's better-known coastal draws, so it is mostly visited by campers and locals rather than tour buses.
