Korekawa Jomon Kan
是川縄文館Aomori · Tohoku
A city archaeological museum beside the Korekawa site, a Jomon-period settlement excavated in Hachinohe since the 1920s. Its centrepiece is the Gassho Dogu, a clay figure in a praying posture designated a National Treasure, shown alongside lacquered wooden vessels and basketry preserved in waterlogged ground. Displays carry English labelling and the surrounding site is open to walk. It is closed on Mondays and over the New Year period.
