Shosenkyo Gorge
昇仙峡（御岳昇仙峡）Yamanashi · Chubu
A dramatic 5km granite gorge just north of Kofu, designated a national Special Place of Scenic Beauty and ranked among Japan's Five Great Gorges. The walking trail runs from the historic Nagatoro Bridge to Sengataki Waterfall, passing rock formations like Kakuenbo Peak and the Ishimon gateway rock.

- Gorge trail is free to walk. Optional Shosenkyo Ropeway: ¥1,300 return / ¥700 one-way adult (junior-high+), ¥650 return / ¥350 one-way child. Two free parking lots (Tenjinmori, Greenline).

How to get there
Yamanashi Kotsu bus from Kofu Station stop #4: ~30 min/¥710 to Shosenkyo-guchi, ~40 min/¥1,000 to Greenline Shosenkyo, ~50 min/¥1,090 to the Taki-ue (falls) terminus. Winter (Dec-Mar) buses stop at Shosenkyo-guchi only; a ¥300 call-ahead mini-bus covers the final leg.
