This hillside shrine in Hida-Furukawa is one of the pilgrimage stops in the town Makoto Shinkai used as the model for Itomori in 'Your Name' (Kimi no Na wa); fans cite its stone stairway and forested grounds as a real-world reference for the film's Miyamizu Shrine, where Mitsuha's family keeps its shrine traditions. Hida-Furukawa is where Taki's group searches for Mitsuha's hometown, and the shrine sits a short walk from Hida-Furukawa Station, which also appears in the film. Visitors climb the steps to a quiet komainu-guarded hall away from the town's canal streets.
