A hilltop wooden castle keep in Kakegawa City (western Shizuoka) reconstructed in 1994 using original Edo-period materials and methods — the first authentic wooden tenshukaku rebuild in postwar Japan; the adjoining Ninomaru Palace is one of only four surviving original castle palaces in the country.
