Tsuzura is a bank of roughly 300 small rice paddies stacked up a valley side in the hills above Ukiha, held in place by dry-stone walls built around four centuries ago. The terraces cover about seven hectares and are still farmed, partly by townspeople who take on a paddy under an owner scheme. A single narrow lane runs up through the middle of them.
