Inami Woodcarving Museum
井波彫刻総合会館Toyama · Chubu
The Inami Woodcarving Museum is the exhibition hall of the Inami carvers' cooperative, holding more than two hundred pieces of the town's wood sculpture. The display covers ranma transom panels, folding screens, deity figures and lion-head masks, alongside historical work showing how the techniques developed over some two hundred and fifty years. A Japanese-style room and rotating exhibits sit within the same building, and the carvers' workshops line the street outside. The hall closes on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
