Ainokura Gassho-zukuri Village
相倉合掌造り集落Toyama · Chubu
Ainokura is a working hamlet of twenty steep-thatched gassho-zukuri farmhouses on a terrace above the Sho river valley, and the smaller and quieter of the two Gokayama World Heritage villages. People still live in the houses; a handful take guests overnight or open as small museums. A short climb behind the village gives the standard view over the whole cluster of roofs.
