Arurun no Umi (Joetsu Fish Hall)

The fish hall of Joetsu's farm-and-food complex, a few minutes from Joetsu-Myoko station: a counter of whole fish landed on the Joetsu coast that morning, next to a vegetable market of local produce and a restaurant that turns the same catch into kaisen-don. It is the closest thing to a Japan Sea fish market that a traveller coming down off the Myoko or Nozawa slopes can reach without a car.
