Lake water is sprayed over steel frames through the Hokkaido winter until it freezes into blue-white towers and caverns on the shore at Shikotsuko Onsen — the ice takes its colour from the lake itself. Lit from late afternoon.

Best viewing tips
10:00–20:00, illumination 16:30–20:00. Entry ¥1,000 on weekdays and ¥3,000 at weekends and on holidays, junior-high age and up. Dates confirmed by the Chitose tourism association for 30 January – 23 February 2027.
