Beppu's most popular winter festival: music-synchronized fireworks launched from ships in Beppu Bay and viewed for free from Matogahama Park, Spa Beach and the Kitahama seafront, about 10 minutes' walk from JR Beppu Station. The evening opens with Christmas songs performed by local children, followed by stage shows and food stalls before the main firework display.
