釧路大漁どんぱく
Hokkaido
Kushiro's biggest autumn food-and-fireworks festival, held by the Kushiro River near Fisherman's Wharf MOO. The name combines the 'don' of fireworks with the 'paku' of biting into local seafood and food stalls. The Saturday-night fireworks show includes Hokkaido's only three-shaku (three-foot) shells with a burst spanning roughly 600 m and a Niagara curtain across the river.
