The Jinkoshiki Taisai is the most important festival at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, held to commemorate Sugawara no Michizane and express gratitude for national peace and bountiful harvests. It began in 1101 and is designated as an intangible folk cultural asset of Fukuoka Prefecture.
