今帰仁グスク桜まつり
Okinawa
Held at the UNESCO World Heritage Nakijin Castle ruins on the Motobu Peninsula, this is one of Okinawa's premier cherry-blossom events, timed to the deep-pink Ryukyu kanhizakura that bloom in late January. Highlights include evening illumination of the castle walls and blossoms, eisa drumming, Ryukyuan dance and a Ryuso costume experience. Adult admission is 1,000 yen.
