Kubazaki Beach

AsPJT / CC0 1.0

Kubazaki Beach

細崎海岸

Okinawa

A beach at Kohama Island's western tip looking directly across the Yonara Channel ("Manta Way," a manta ray migration route) to Iriomote Island. No parking lot or restroom facilities; the access road has notable elevation changes. Typhoon season runs roughly June to October, and a passing storm can cancel ferries, flights and all marine activity across the islands at a day's notice — check the forecast before you rely on this stop.

Why it's hidden

Explicitly described by local guides as having few tourists and no facilities — it's the beach locals point to as Kohama's most scenic but least developed, deliberately bypassed by tour buses.
