Okinawa
The shoreline of the Haimurubushi resort on the southeast coast of Kohama Island, part of the Yaeyama Islands within Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. Opened in 1979 and now run by Mitsui Fudosan, the resort was a filming location for the 2001 NHK drama Chura-san. The beach itself is calm and reef-sheltered. Typhoon season runs roughly June to October, and a passing storm can cancel ferries, flights and all marine activity across the islands at a day's notice — check the forecast before you rely on this stop.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
