Oku-Iya Double Vine Bridges (Niju Kazurabashi)
奥祖谷二重かずら橋Tokushima · Shikoku
The Oku-Iya Double Vine Bridges are a pair of woven-vine suspension bridges — the larger 'husband' (Otto-bashi) and the smaller 'wife' (Tsuma-bashi) — spanning the upper Iya River deep in the mountains of eastern Tokushima. Beside them a hand-pulled 'yaen' (wild monkey) cable cart lets visitors haul themselves across the gorge in a small wooden car.

- Oboke Station (JR Dosan Line) — very remote: ~1h40m by car via Rte 439, or Shikoku Kotsu bus toward Kubo, change to the local Mt. Tsurugi bus, alight at Kazurabashi (weekends/holidays/peak season only). Car strongly recommended.
