A UNESCO-listed Ryukyu royal garden built in 1799 as a retreat and reception villa for the Sho family and visiting Chinese envoys. A stroll path circles a pond with two small islands, a red-tiled Chinese-style hexagonal pavilion, arched stone bridges, and seasonal plantings of plum and wisteria, all rebuilt after the garden was destroyed in the Battle of Okinawa.
