Tosa Kokubun-ji is temple 29 of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage, in Nankoku city east of Kochi. Founded in 741 as the provincial temple of Tosa province and attributed to the priest Gyoki, its main hall is a National Important Cultural Property and the whole precinct is a National Historic Site. The principal image is a thousand-armed Kannon.
