Sueyoshi Park and Shrine

末吉公園・末吉宮

Okinawa

A forested valley park in central Naha with streams, small waterfalls, and mossy stone paths leading up to Sueyoshi-gu, a 15th-century Shinto shrine and Nationally designated Historic Site that is one of the Eight Shrines of the old Ryukyu Kingdom. The shrine's weathered stone hall sits on a limestone outcrop reached by a short, jungly climb.

Why we picked it

Tucked between Naha's Gibo and Shiritsu Byoinmae neighborhoods with no signage aimed at tourists, it functions as a quiet local escape rather than a sightseeing stop, unlike the city's headline castle and shopping-street attractions.
