Sunabe Seawall

砂辺海岸

Okinawa

A roughly 5-kilometer concrete promenade along Chatan's Miyagi and Mihama coastline, built as typhoon protection and now doubling as a sunset walking path, surf break, and Okinawa's most-dived shore site thanks to a shallow soft-coral reef just offshore. Staircases along the wall lead straight into the water for easy snorkeling and diving entries.

Why it's hidden

Overshadowed by neighboring Mihama American Village, it draws mostly resident divers and a small expat crowd rather than the bus tours that stop at the mall next door.
