Okinawa
Higashi-Hennazaki is a long, narrow cape running out from the eastern end of Miyakojima, with cliffs falling away on both sides and a lighthouse at the tip. The cape is free to walk; climbing the lighthouse costs ¥300. Public transport is limited — the nearest bus stop is a 15-minute walk away — so most visitors arrive by car. Typhoon season runs roughly June to October, and a passing storm can cancel ferries, flights and all marine activity across the islands at a day's notice — check the forecast before you rely on this stop.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
