A mid-14th-century Ryukyu-era gusuku (castle) site on Hateruma Island with dry-stacked coral-limestone walls, roughly 150m by 100m, designated a National Historic Site in 2003. Locally called "Buribuchi Park" after the Hateruma dialect word for castle ruins, it was maintained by a volunteer elders' association after WWII, which the site itself escaped undamaged.
