Kochi Castle
高知城Kochi · Shikoku
One of only 12 Japanese castles retaining its original Edo-period main keep, and the only one in Japan to also retain its original honmaru palace (Kaitokukan) intact — most standing structures date to a 1748-1753 rebuild after fire. Built 1601-1611 by Yamauchi Kazutoyo as seat of the Tosa Domain.
