The Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden is a public botanical garden and plant-research institute on Mount Godai in eastern Kochi city, commemorating the botanist Makino Tomitaro. Its grounds combine planted areas, greenhouses and a conservatory with the Makino Library and a herbarium used for active research. It sits immediately beside Chikurin-ji temple on the same hilltop, so the two are usually visited together.
