The northeastern tip of Kudaka Island, believed in Ryukyuan creation myth to be where the ancestral goddess Amamikiyo first descended to the islands. Raised coral rock gives onto a vast Pacific horizon, and the surrounding plant community is designated a national natural treasure. Typhoon season runs roughly June to October, and a passing storm can cancel ferries, flights and all marine activity across the islands at a day's notice — check the forecast before you rely on this stop.

- No admission charge — an open sacred cape at the north tip of Kudaka Island. It is a holy site (where the creator deity Amamikiyo is said to have descended), so visitor etiquette applies: swimming is prohibited, and nothing — not stones, sand, plants or shells — may be removed from the island. The surrounding vegetation is a nationally designated natural monument. Reaching it takes ~20 min by rental bicycle from the port.
