Okinawa
Ishigaki’s most famous view — a sheltered bay of impossibly graded turquoise water dotted with green islets. Swimming is off-limits (strong currents and black-pearl farms), but glass-bottom boats glide over the coral and the lookout above is magical in any light. Typhoon season runs roughly June to October, and a passing storm can cancel ferries, flights and all marine activity across the islands at a day's notice — check the forecast before you rely on this stop.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
